FISHING REPORT
Variety of species brought in this week

Anglers in Port Aransas had no trouble catching a variety of species this week. In spite of high winds, many went out to catch their limit.

Deep Sea Headquarters' boats brought in limits of snapper, some big sow snapper, lots of ling, kingfish, triggerfish, several 100-plus-pound shark and one 43-pound amberjack, according to Dan Hurd. Redfish and big speckled trout are still in the bays.

Offshore Adventures reported limits of snapper, some amberjack and barracuda. Bay guides are catching redfish and speckled trout, according to Peggy Sexton.

Sandy Fudge at Woody's Sports Center said offshore anglers brought in lots of red snapper, ling, wahoo and kingfish. Shark and gafftop are being caught in the bays and Spanish mackerel are biting off the ends of the jetties.

A spokesman from Barnacle Bill's Pier House on Horace Caldwell Pier reported catches of blacktip and hammerhead shark, whiting and black drum.

John McNatt of Fisherman's Wharf reports limits of snapper and lots of kingfish, shark and ling being caught offshore. One 110-pound bull shark was caught. Bay guides are still landing redfish.

According to Sandy Martin at Dolphin Dock, offshore trips brought in dorado, amberjack, snapper, ling, yellowfin and blackfin tuna, shark, barracuda and kingfish. The bays have yielded big gafftop and redfish this week.
