The Art Center for the Islands will

Friday, June 6, from 5 to 8 p.m. at

the art center, 323 N. Alister.

The June exhibit will feature the

"It's aGuyThing"exhibit.The

publicisinvitedtoperuse the art

ex hib it, so c ia lize and enjoy live

music and refreshments. Admission

is free.

Artists exhibiting include Steve

Vaughn, Tiddle Caylor, Duffey Albright,

Ed Boyd and Art Raynie.

Vaughn is a longtime Port Aransas resident and painter. His works can

be seen in galleries in Rockport and

Port Aransas.

Caylor has been in Port Aransas

since 1954. His works can be seen

in several Texas publications.

Albright, another Port Ara nsas

resident,paints inalargestudio

overlookingtheGulf.His works

portray landscapes or relationships

between people.

Boyd lives in Rockport. His latest

medium is overlays of vinyl sticker

tape, which resemble painting technique. He also paints backdrops for

the Rialto theater in Aransas Pass.

R aynie also lives in Roc kport . Raynie uses a mi xture of a cryli c

paste and silica, providing a wide

ra ng e of tex t ures ap plied w ith a

knife or brush onto canvas.

American Electric Power is sponsoring

the art center during June.
