Free surfing lessons offered Saturday

Surfing lessons can be had for free this weekend.

The Super Saturday event scheduled for June 7 has been moved to Saturday, May 31.

Participants will learn surfing basics from a pro with all equipment provided courtesy of the Port Aransas Parks and Recreation Department.

Morgan Faulkner of Texas Surf Camps will give surf lessons at no cost for those age 5 and older from 9 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. Children must be competent swimmers and accompanied by a parent.

Surfers and their parents will meet at Horace Caldwell Pier at the end of Beach Street.

Due to scheduling conflicts, Faulkner will not be holding the June 7 lessons as previously scheduled.
