Like his great-grandfather
Connally Waight, 10, portrays his great-grandfather, former Texas Gov. John B. Connally Jr., at H.G. Olsen Elementary School cafeteria on Friday, May 16. Waight, whose great-grandfather also served as U.S. Secretary of the Navy and Secretary of the Treasury, was among many Olsen fourth-grade students performing in the school's annual wax museum program. The hour-long event, attended by students, teachers and parents, served as a way for the fourth graders to gain skills at public speaking. Students memorized details of the lives of well-known figures, from software mogul Bill Gates to pop singler Christina Aguilera, dressed like the those famous folks and then spoke about their lives for whoever stopped by the students' stations in the cafeteria.
