Texas Treasure to close for biennial repair work
BY DAN PARKER SOUTH JETTY REPORTER

The Texas Treasure casino ship soon will be dry-docked for repairs expected to last about 30 days, according to an attorney for the business.

Interviewed on Tuesday, May 13, the lawyer, Pat Beam, said the ship would go into dry dock "in the next couple of days."

He said the ship needs generator work and that he was in the process of determining where the ship would be dry-docked.

Most of the employees in the ship's food and beverage and casino departments will be discharged, but they will be brought back when the ship is ready to sail again, Beam said. He said he didn't know exactly how many employees would be discharged.

Beam said the dry-docking for repairs is a routine action taken every two years but that it's being done slightly early this year.
