PAHS grad Johns earns master's at Dallas university

Former Port Aransas resident Monica Johns graduates from Dallas Baptist University today, Thursday, May 15. She will receive a master's degree in reading education and English as-a-second language.

Johns is a 2001 graduate of Port Aransas High School, and a 2006 magna cum laude graduate of Texas A&M University - Corpus Christi where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in interdisciplinary studies.

After graduation from TAMU-CC, she taught third grade for one year at Janie Stark Elementary School in Farmers Branch. She now teaches fourth grade at McCoy Elementary in Carrollton.

Johns is the daughter of Robyn McKinney of Port Aransas.
