Treasures of beach focus of free walk
The public is invited to learn about all that washes onto the beaches of Mustang Island.
A guided beach walk, sponsored by the Port Aransas Parks and Recreation Department, will examine the beach sampling on Friday, May 23.
The free walk, led by self-taught naturalist Steve Zarych, will start at 9 a.m. by the red flag next to Horace Caldwell Pier.
The walks are held on the fourth Friday of each month.
Beach walkers should wear appropriate shoes and clothing and bring a container for any treasures found.
