PTO schedules date for officers' election
Officers for the 2008-09 school year will be elected when the Port Aransas Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO) meets on Monday, May. 12.
The nominating committee will present a slate of officers to consideration at the meeting that will be at 6 p.m. in the H.G. Olsen Elementary School gym, 100 Station St.
Parents of all elementary school students are welcome to attend the meeting, although only PTO members may vote.
In addition to the proposed slate of officers, nominations will be taken from the floor.
The slate of officers that will be presented by the nominating committee includes Laurie Hanmore for president, Jenny Kite for treasurer, Meagan Kelley for secretary and Rhoda Gleason for parliamentarian.
In addition to the officer elec- tion, upcoming events, including the teacher appreciation luncheon on May 16 and other end-of-school activities, will be discussed.
A performance by elementary students will also be included in the evening's activities.
