Board meets May 15
The Port Aransas Independent School District Board of Trustees will meet at 6 p.m. on Thursday, May 15, at the district's administrative offices building at 100 S. Station St.
School board meetings normally are held on the second Thursday of each month, but May's meeting was rescheduled partly to accommodate trustees' schedules.
Trustees also wanted the meeting to take place after the May 10 city elections so newly elected trustees could be sworn in.
Place 2 on the school board features a race between incumbent Place 4 trustee Michael Garlough and former trustee Chuck Borders. Place 3 is a race between incumbent trustee Lorraine Stern and Jay Jones.
