Neither, wind nor rain . . .
This team of birders weathered wind and rain on Sunday, April 27, to count 107 species. The counters were participating in the Big Sit, part of the Great Texas Birding Classic that is a weeklong bird count along the Gulf coast. Team members are, from left Mikael Behrens of Austin (son of Barbara and Bill Behrens of Port Aransas), Joan Holt, Scott Holt, Georgia Neblett and Bobby Sherwood. They staked out a birdwatching spot at the Leonabelle Turnbull Birding Center to watch the birds coming in to rest after a norther earlier in the day.
