Three walk away from multiple-vehicle wreck

The drivers of three vehicles involved in an accident at State Hwy. 361 and Royal Sands Street on Saturday, April 26, escaped without injury, though all three of the vehicles suffered moderate damage.

Police reports show that Cody Boyd James, 18, of San Antonio, was southbound in a Toyota Tundra pickup truck on State Hwy. 361 at 6:42 p.m. and had stopped to wait for northbound traffic to clear so he could make a left turn onto Royal Sands.

Jona Morrison, 47, of Austin, following James in a Mazda pickup truck, pulled over onto the right shoulder of the highway to pass James on the right.

Richard Allen Lewis, 24, of Corpus Christi, was following Morrison in a Chrysler 300. He tried to squeeze between Morrison's pickup, on the shoulder, and James's pickup, stopped for the left turn, and didn't make it.

Because no injuries were reported, the accident is classed as a minor one. No charges have been filed, police said.
