Kids invited to audition for PACT's summer production

A casting call has been issued by the Port Aransas Youth Theater for the upcoming production of "Godspell, Jr." The summer musical production will cast 14 to 18 characters, all between the ages of eight and 18.

Auditions will be held at the Port Aransas Community Theater, 2327 State Hwy. 361, on Saturday and Sunday, May 3 and 4, at 4 p.m. and Wednesday, May 7 at 7:30 p.m.

Prospective performers should be prepared to sing, dance and read from the script. A music CD for accompaniment is allowed. Sandals and flip-flops are not to be worn during dancing.

Rehearsals will begin in June, some evenings and weekends, and increase in frequency as the performance dates near. The run of the play will be the last two weeks of July.

"Godspell, Jr." is a play about the Gospel according to St. Mark portrayed through a variety of musical

production

venues and modern day characters. It follows the story of Jesus from baptism to crucifixion.
