Golf team competes at Brenham in regionals Only one of two Port Aransas High School girls' golf teams that qualified competed at the regional golf tournament on April 21 and 22. Held at the Brenham Country Club, PAHS had only enough girls go to fill one team because of "injuries and other issues," according to Coach Steve Reaves. None of the girls' advanced to state, but Reaves said, "I think they saw that, with a little more work, especially on our short game, we can get real competitive at the regional meet. It was good for the girls to see the other teams in our region and see where we stand. " Reaves said the course and weather were both great. "I'm not sure our kids have ever seen so many trees, which did give us a few issues," he said. Team members played two rounds each, one on Monday and one on Tuesday. "It was a real good learning experience for us, especially since we took one junior, two sophomores and two freshmen.
