The right to advance was earned at the district tournament, held April 7. Six schools participated. Drake Sawyer, scored 91 to end up fifth overall, first out of the players that were not on a team, and will advance to regional. The varsity girls A and B teams place first and second as teams to advance to regional. Players who play on an advancing team do not advance as individuals, only as a team. The top two individuals who are not on an advancing team advance to the next level. Every district has two teams and two individuals advance to regional. The boys A team finish in third, while the boys B team finished sixth.
" The weather was real good. The wind stayed down, and the temperature didn't get too hot. Our kids played ok. For several of them, it was the first district golf meet, and I think they were a little nervous. Everybody settled down and enjoyed the day," said Coach Steve Reaves. |
