McDonald

Lt. Col. Everette E. McDonald, U. S. Army Ret., died Tuesday, March 18, 2008, in Corpus Christi. He was 95.

He was the father of Patricia Perry (Lt. Col. C. A. Perry Jr., USAF Ret.) of Port Aransas.

McDonald was born May 11, 1912 in Browndell. He served in the United States Army during World War II from 1940 to 1944. After the war he continued to serve in the United States Army Reserves until he retired. He graduated from Texas A & M University with a Bachelor of Science in engineering. He began his career in petroleum engineering with Magnolia Oil Company, which later became Exxon, then Mobil. His work took him all over South Texas until his last assignment in Freer. He retired in 1959. McDonald was a member of the Church of Christ in Seguin, and previously served as an elder there. He moved to Corpus Christi in 2003.

He was preceded in death by his wife of over 60 years, Wanda Patricia McDonald.

Other survivors include his brother, Jim (Betty) McDonald of Lufkin; sister, Tincy Hebert of Nederland; two grandchildren, Paige Lange of Jacksonville, Fla., and Chase Perry of Dallas; four great grandchildren, Rachel and Paul Lange, and Abbey and Carter Perry.

Graveside services will be conducted at 2p.m., Friday, March 21, at the Lone Star Cemetery near Pineland. Visitation and viewing will be from 1 p.m. until just before the service. Jim McDonald will officiate.
