SandFest alive, well
Corpus Christi, not Port Aransas, event is cancelled

SandFest 2008 is alive, well and on the calendar for Friday through Sunday, April 18-20.

A sand sculpture contest in Corpus Christi was cancelled this week, giving rise to rumors that it was SandFest that had gone by the wayside.

Not so.

SandFest will not only be held, but it will be bigger and better than before, according to organizers.

Among additions to the festival will be a wood-floor handicap tent with boardwalk accessibility.

The festival features divisions for master sculptors, pro-amateur sculptors, amateur and youth sculptors. Vendors sell food and merchandise, and musicians entertain throughout the festival.
