Roy
Roy was born Aug. 31, 1931, in Abbyville, La. and had lived in Anahuac for more than 50 years. He came to Port Aransas as captain of the Brown & Root dredge "Herbert J" during construction of the Brown & Root Harbor Island Fabrication Facility. Roy liked to come to Port Aransas to visit family and to fish. He was in the lawn care business since 1985 in the Anahuac area after retiring from 25 years at Brown & Root. His first wife, Hazel Roy; a son, Francis Roy Jr.; two daughters, Barbara Boozer and Cindy Willey Strade; a granddaughter, Shoshonie Dunman and his parents preceded Roy in death. Survivors include his wife, Margaret Ulch Roy; three additional sons, Raymond (Diane) Duhon of Anahuac, Scotty (Amy) Willey of Ingleside and John (Yolanda) Willey of Anahuac; two daughters, Stacey Willey (Stacey) Medders of Anahuac and Sarah Talley of Kerrville; 24 additional grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Thursday, Jan. 17, at the Anahuac Assembly of God Church, with Rev. David Watts presiding. Leslie Willey Jr. delivered the eulogy. Pallbearers were Michael Duhon, Raymond Duhon Jr., Wesley Medders, John Willey Jr., Leslie Willey III and Scott Willey. |
