and won. The Lady Marlins prevailed, 54- 44, in a game played at Doyle Marek Gym at Port Aransas High School on Friday, Dec. 19. "Once again, contributions were made by all members of our team," said Stephanie Foerster, coach of the Lady Marlins. "It was a great way to go into the holiday break."
The win came as a welcome respite after losing two out of three games at a Dec. 11-13 tournament in Jarrell and winning only two of five games at a Dec. 4-6 at Industrial High School. The team also has endured injuries to Lady Marlins Rachael Phillips and Meredith Berry.
"We have faced some adversity in the past weeks, and I am extremely proud of the way the girls have responded," Foerster said.
The Lady Marlins jumped out to an early lead against the Christian Warriors, ending the first quarter with a 12-4 advantage.
