Learning the ropes

COURTESY PHOTO COURTESY PHOTO The Port Aransas High School criminal justice class got a tour of the police station from officer Sandra Franco on Wednesday, Dec. 10. The students were shown the communications center, booking areas, holding cells, and court rooms. They learned police procedures on arrests and detentions, then had a question and answer session with Franco and Lt. James Stokes, interim police chief. The students were mainly interested in career opportunities in law enforcement, according to criminal justice teacher Gary Mott. From left in back are Andrew Ferguson-Johns, Joe E.
