Port Aransas Chamber of Commerce Tourist Bureau Executive Director Ann Bracher Vaughan and her 3-year-old granddaughter, Ava, of Uvalde, are nearly swallowed by poinsettias growing at the chamber office. Each Christmas for the past five years or so, the chamber has bought potted poinsettias sold as a Project Graduation fundraiser. Poinsettias are displayed until after Christmas, then planted the showy vegetation behind the building. Today, the plants have blossomed up into one big explosion of Christmas cheer.
