Port Aransas resident deceased after rollover

Port Aransas public safety officers were called to the scene of an early morning rollover accident that resulted in a fatality at the intersection of Station Street and Spencer's Landing.

Randy Charles Baker of Port Aransas was transported to North Bay Hospital in Aransas Pass about 1:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 15 after the onevehicle accident was discovered. The 29-year-old man had been ejected from his single-cab Ford F150 pickup truck, and apparently was not wearing a seat belt.

Police Sgt. Terry Syler said there was no alcohol involved in the rollover.

Spencer's Landing is a new roadway with housing under construction on it.

Syler said Baker's truck apparently flipped a quarter turn after its tires hit sand on a residential lot.

Baker died of his injuries at North Bay Hospital.
