Christmas tradition
      In keeping with a tradition of several years' standing, these young parents and their children climb aboard a hay-filled trailer and make the rounds, singing Christmas carols at the homes of friends and neighbors. This year's 'sleigh' ride was held Sunday, Dec. 14.

Laurent chosen as ambassador

      Celebrate Christmas on wheels Saturday, Dec. 20, from 2:30 to 5 p.m. Kids of all ages are invited to skate to Christmas music and eat Christmas cookies, courtesy of the City of Port Aransas Parks and Recreation Department, at the Community Park rink, 700 Clark Parkway.

Hopscotch blocks
      Malaika Harder, left, Megan Forrest, Annette Casto and Devan Murray gathered in the Port Aransas Community Center recently to paint the numbers for a hopscotch game that currently is located on the north side of the center. The project was part of the Port Aransas Garden Club's work to landscape the grounds of the center and the new Port Aransas Museum.

      The Port Aransas High School student council has announced the members of the 2008 homecoming court. Freshman Taylor Griffin, sophomore Kelsey Ortiz, junior Emily Scott and seniors Hannah Jones and Meagan Callaway were elected duchesses.
