Port Aransas City Manager Michael Kovacs performed his job well during Hurricane Ike's threatened landing in the area. Too rough offshore? Fish the bays instead
Offshore fishing has been slim this week due to the weather. Bay and jetty anglers have been a little busier. Bay guides have brought in all the usual suspects: red and black drum, sheepshead, trout and flounder. Girls lose two of three in close games
The Port Aransas High School Lady Marlins beat a bigger school's team, then lost two close games at a tournament in Jarrell, north of Austin, Dec. 11-13. James Robert "J.B." Meuth, 55, died Sunday, Dec. 14, 2008. He was a longtime resident of Port Aransas, where he was the property manager for Island Retreat Condominiums. Meuth was born Feb. 15, 1953 in Falfurrias. After his move from Port Aransas to Fulton, he became the property manager for Sandollar Resort. More...
