FISHING REPORT

Tuna and flounder are plentiful this time of year

It's tuna season. Flounder season. Tuna season. Flounder season. It's both.

The offshore boats that went out caught boatloads of yellowfin and blackfin tuna, kingfish and dorado.

Bay anglers are still bagging those flounder, along with sheepshead, trout and black drum.

Tom Creighton at Woody's Sports Center reported that bay guides were catching redfish, trout and flounder.

MaryAnn Heimann at Offshore Adventures said bay guides are catching black drum and redfish in the flats. Trout and flounder are in the mix as well.

Tracy Ingalls at Barnacle Bill's Pier House on Horace Caldwell Pier said anglers there have been catching redfish, lots of whiting and pompano.

John McNatt at Fisherman's Wharf said that anglers on a 56-hour trip brought in blackfin, yellowfin, dorado and amberjack. North jetty anglers are reporting sheepshead, redfish, trout, black drum and flounder.

Scott Garrison at Deep Sea Headquarters said offshore trips are catching blackfin tuna, kingfish, vermilion snapper and Atlantic sharpnose shark. Long floater trips brought back yellowfin and blackfin tuna and dorado.
