Fall Back Festival tickets go on sale Saturday

Tickets go on sale Saturday, Oct. 25, for the 13th annual Fall Back Festival scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 1.

Prepare to enjoy an evening of food, wine, music, costumes, fortune telling and drawings for prizes at the festival that celebrates the coming of fall and the end of Daylight Saving Time. The celebration that benefits the Port Aransas Community Theater will be from 7 to 10 p.m. in the outdoor courtyard area of the shops at Pelican's Landing, Alister at Roberts Street.

Tickets, at $30 per person, may be purchased at Gratitude Gift Shop, 316 N. Station St. or at the "door" of the event.

Glazers Wholesale Liquor and Wine Distributors and S.A. Better Distributors of Texas out of San Antonio will provide wine and beer for the tasting, and 15 Port Aransas restaurants will offer samples of their specialties.

Dicky Neely will again host the Ain't Nothin' But the Blues concert that will feature a reunion of Silent Slim and the Locomotives, once a well-known band in Port Aransas. Also appearing on stage will be Rich and Dawn Segura (he of Silent Slim and the Locomotive fame, and together they perform in Austin with several bands, including Sweet Potato Pie), Antone Perez, Franz Schlievert, Bobby Medina and Neely.

"We might have a surprise guest or two as well," Neely said.

A Chinese auction, with $1 tickets, will feature a variety of prizes donated by Port Aransas merchants. Prizes also will be awarded for the best Halloween costumes.

Madame Lu will be on hand to tell the fortunes of those who cross her palm with cash that will benefit PACT.

For those who bring their cameras, Dolly Parton and Elvis Presley lookalikes will pose for photos for a slight fee that also will go to PACT.

Participating restaurants are Fins Grill and Ice House, Sips Wine and Coffee Bar, Hooks, Trout Street Bar and Grill, the Crazy Cajun, Pelican's Landing, Castaways, La Playa, Port A Pizzeria, Island Café, Family Center IGA Deli, Quiznos, Thaiphoon Restaurant and Café Phoenix. San Juan Restaurant is participating through a cash donation.
