PAHS gym floor gets new look
Refinished surface topped off with new logo
      The Port Aransas High School Marlins and Lady Marlins will have a freshly refurbished gym floor when basketball season starts in November. Jelco, an Austin firm, recently finished giving the Doyle Marek Gym floor a shiny facelift that includes bold new graphics.

Cross-country team tries out state course
      Port Aransas High School Cross- Country team members faced tough competition on Saturday, Oct. 4, as they ran the same course in Round Rock where the state meet will be held, along with runners from 50 other schools.

Spirit Dinner is Booster Club topic on Monday
      Plans for the Spirit Dinner will be finalized when the Marlin Athletic Booster Club meets on Monday, Oct. 13. The meeting will be at 6:30 p.m. in the Port Aransas ISD administration building, 100 Station St. Parents of Brundrett Middle School and Port Aransas High School athletes are welcome to attend, as are fans of the Marlins and Lady Marlins.

Runners, walkers benefit JELM
      Results are in for the 16th annual Port Aransas Sand and Surf Beach Run/Walk, held Saturday, Oct. 4. The event, hosted by the Community Presbyterian Church, is an annual fundraiser for the Joint Effort Leisure Misnistries (JELM) Center. The center provides a variety of activities for Winter Texans and residents from October through March each year.
