More to ballot than president
      Most of you are aware of this, but there will be a lot more on your ballot at the election this Nov. 4 than the race for president. Democrat Barack Obama and Republican John Mc- Cain are vying for voter attention in swing states; Texas isn't considered one by either campaign.

Candidates leave a lot to be desired
      It surprises the heck out of me that Katie Couric could get the best of anyone. I'm not a fan. I quit watching/listening to the Today Show when she was co-host. I kept waiting for someone to reply to one of her questions, which she answered herself, with, "Couldn't have said it better myself, Katie.

      Just when you thought we had identified everything to watch out for, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention add another. Pets. Not the family dog and cat, it seems, but what they call exotic pets.
