Corpus Christi halt does not apply to Port Aransas
The Port Aransas water supply will not be interrupted on Thursday afternoon, Oct. 9.
Mark Young, manager of Nueces County Water Control and Improvement District No. 4, said he has been getting calls from water district customers since a story was published in the Corpus Christi Caller-Times on Wednesday, Oct. 8, saying the water supply to Padre Island would be interrupted for about two hours onThursday.
The water district has a secondary supplier of water in addition to the City of Corpus Christi, so no restrictions will be applied to Port Aransas customers.
Young said he has asked condominiums to reduce or stop watering their lawns during that period on a voluntary basis.
