First Lieutenant Burl Merrick Wright, United States Marine Corps (retired), 76, of San Antonio died Saturday, Sept. 20, 2008. He was the father of Gina McKeever of Port Aransas. Wright was born on Sept. 5, 1932 in San Antonio to William G. and Jesse Slawson Wright. The fourth of 10 children, he left school at age 13 to pick peanuts for additional income for his family.
