FISHING REPORT
Fishing + weather = paradise
      Fishing doesn't get much better than last weekend in Port Aransas. Low humidity, balmy temperatures, glassy-smooth waters and abundant fish added up to just about perfect. If, for some odd reason, you weren't catching anything, it was worth being out there just for the weather.

Surprise Tarpon
      Arthur Toscano of San Antonio went fishing for trout, but landed this Tarpon instead. He was fishing at the end of the south jetty on Sunday, Sept.28.

Junior Tournament
      Jake Roberts, above, was the overall champion in the Junior Boatmen fishing tournament on Sunday, Sept. 28. He landed this 29 ¼-inch tagged redfish, weighing in at 7.14 pounds. Below, Jon Johnson, left, and Chris Redmond display their winning black drum.

      These anglers went on a 40-hour fishing safari aboard the Dolphin with Capts. Travis Kerr and Chris Wallace on Sunday, Sept. 28. They brought in kingfish, shark, barracuda, amberjack, jack crevalle and b-liners.
