BMS runners compete

The West Guth Park meet was the first meet of the year for BMS.
"We took 26 runners to the meet, which is a lot," said Javier Mendoza, the team's coach.
"Our runners did extremely well on a difficult course," Mendoza said.
The next meet will be in Port Aransas on Saturday, Sept. 27.
Top finishers from Port Aransas included seventh-grade girls Haley Scott, who got seventh place; and Rachael Lyons, who came in 17th.
Among seventh-grade boys, Christian Johnson was a top finisher by taking 17th place.
