Harris

Mary Ellen Harris, 67, of Hallettsville, died on Sunday, Aug. 31, 2008. She and her husband were residents and owners of the Sportsman's Lodge in Port Aransas from 1974 to 1991.

Harris was born June 10, 1941, to Ernest and Mary O. McArthur in Burlington. Colo.

She married George E. Harris in 1960, in Denver, Colo.

Harris enjoyed making pottery, gardening, and traveling with her husband.

She was preceded in death by her parents and by her son, Scott Patrick Harris.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Stephen D. Harris of Edmonds, Wash.; a daughter, Robyn L.M. Dombroski of Wasilla, Alaska; a brother, Kenneth McArthur of Colorado; two sisters, Elaine Taylor of Colorado and Betty Barker of Florida, and five grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at the Kubena Funeral Home in Hallettsville at 3 p.m. tomorrow, Friday, Sept. 5, with visitation beginning at 1 p.m. A private family burial will be held at the Speaks Cemetery in Speaks.
