FISHING REPORT
They're out there!
      The bad news is that billfishing has slowed a little. The good news is that the tuna are moving in. The slight slow in billfishing may be due to a cold upwelling offshore, according to Bobby Richter of Port Aransas. He fishes aboard his boat, The Blues Brothers regularly. He reported two sailfish caught by the Five O'Clock Somewhere on Saturday, Aug.

Biggy
      Jesse Salinas, right, caught this 89-pound ling aboard the Pelican with Capt. Marvin J. Horner out of Deep Sea Headquarters on Sunday, Aug. 17. Helping him hold it up are Joe Felan, left, and Lee Ornelaz, center. All three men are from San Antonio. The state rod and reel record for ling is 108.44 pounds.

Texas Women Angler's Fishing Tournament is on for the weekend
      Rig up, ladies, it's time to fish! The Texas Women Anglers Tournament allows only women to compete (although men may serve as guides, deckhands, captains, cheerleaders or provide other support). This year's event is scheduled for this weekend, Friday through Sunday, Aug. 22 - 24, in Port Aransas.
