Jade Mouton, a 9-year-old with heart disease, is trying to raise $7,500 for the American Heart Association.

She's about $4,000 short, so she's having another bake sale Saturday, Aug. 16.

It will be from 2 p.m. till sell-out at the Family Center IGA, 416 S. Alister St.

Jade is raising funds for the American Heart Association's walk, scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 25, at Whataburger Field in Corpus Christi.

Jade's heart disease requires daily medication, restrictions on her activities, and the possibility of heart surgery in the future.

In preparation for the October walk, Jade has been holding a series of fundraisers, including garage and bake sales.
