The first day of school still will be two weeks away on Monday, Aug. 11. But some students still will be gathering at Port Aransas High School that day.

The first PAHS cross-country practice of the season is scheduled to start at 7 a.m. Aug. 11. Students should meet at the gym and have paperwork from their physical exams, plus running gear, said Steve Reaves, coach of the cross-country team.

The first cross-country meet of the season is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 30, at Cole Park in Corpus Christi. The event will be run by Moody High School.
