Schlabach
David Arthur Schlabach, 58, died Friday, July 18, 2008, while vacationing in Panama with his wife. He was a former resident of Port Aransas.
Schlabach was born May 11, 1950, in Long Beach, Calif., to Clifford H. and Beverly Schlabach.
He worked with engineers in Shell Oil in California, and later started a drywall construction business in Port Aransas.
He was an avid musician, playing harmonica, guitar, electric violin and piano. He could frequently be heard playing music at various events in Port Aransas, including the annual Fall Back Festival. He lived in Port Aransas for several years before moving to Kerrville in 2004 to care for his father.
for his father.Schlabach was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Eva Jo Auld Schlabach; a son, Dusty Schlabach of Fullerton, Calif.; a sister, Teri Rea Davis of Chino, Calif.; a stepmother, Diane Garcia of Kerrville and a stepson, Brandon Bransford of Ingram.
A memorial service and potluck lunch is set for Saturday, Aug. 30, at 11 a.m., at the Angel Guarino ranch, 994 Upper Turtle Creek Rd., in Kerrville.
Memorials may be made to the Hill Country Youth Ranch in Ingram or the Impact Christian Fellowship in Kerrville.
