Hope Devlin tourney slated
Kids, fishing, bikes and hot dogs are all wrapped up into one day of fun at the 12th annual Capt. Hope Devlin Fishing Tournament. The one-day tournament for kids is on Saturday, Aug. 9, from dawn to noon, and benefits youth of Port Aransas through scholarships and other programs.
Registration will be on Friday, Aug. 8, from 5 to 6 p.m. at Roberts Point Park. Forms for early registration can be picked up at Woody's Sports Center, 136 W. Cotter Ave., or at Coastal Creations, 620 Cut-off Road. Early registration is $15 per angler, and can be mailed in, or paid up through the Friday registration. Tournament day registration will begin at 8 a.m. Saturday at the Fred Rhodes Memorial Pavilion, at Roberts Point Park. Registration fee the day of the tournament is $20.
Early registration forms and fees should be mailed to Elvia Tamayo, P.O. Box 2633, Port Aransas, TX, 78373- 2633. Checks for fees should be made out to the Kiwanis Club.
Weigh-in is no later than 12:30 p.m. Aug. 9 at Roberts Point Park, and awards will be presented at 1:30 to the two top anglers in each age division. Age divisions are 0-5 years, 6-10 years and 11-16 years. First place in each division wins a bike.
A hot dog lunch will be provided to anglers and may be bought for adults for $5.
