Mary Evelyn (Walker) Reynolds, 90, of Benton, Ill., died at 5 a.m. Monday, July 21, at the Heritage Woods Assisted Living Center in Benton. She was the mother of Phil Reynolds, a reporter for the South Jetty. A graveside memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, July 25, at the Masonic and Oddfellows Cemetery in Benton.

Mrs. Reynolds was born on Jan. 7, 1918, in Benton, the daughter of Roy Walker and Sophronia (Snider) Walker. She married E. M. Reynolds on Sept. 3, 1936, and he preceded her in death on Oct. 6, 1996.

Other survivors are a son, Tom, of West Frankfort, Ill., six grandchildren including Phil Reynolds Jr. of Burnet, 10 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, one brother, William J. Walker of Benton and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, one son, James, a brother, Harold Walker, and a sister, Geneva Heaton.
