Williams wins surf contest; former residents also place

Corey Williams of Port Aransas won the men's division of the MDC Longboard pro, a surf contest at Packery Channel, south of Port Aransas, on Saturday, June 14.

For taking first place, Williams received $350 cash, a 2-foot tikistyle trophy, a pair of Arnette sunglasses, a long board made by Mike Doyle Custom Surfboards of Corpus Christi and a board bag.

Port Aransas High School graduate Nicole Dodson, who lives in Corpus Christi, took second place in the women's division of the contest.

Former Port Aransas resident Brittany Tupaj, now a Corpus Christi resident, got fourth place in the women's division.
