Rick Tinnin remembers coming to Port Aransas to fish as long ago as 1977. Things have changed a lot since then. This year, Tinnin has been named to the Port Aransas Boatmen Inc. Hall of Fame. Fishing excellent all week
By all accounts, fishing was great this week in Port Aransas. The opening of snapper season on Sunday, June 1, was hailed by catches of limits offshore. A good variety of species was reported as well as increasing numbers. Another sailfish was caught and released on the Miss Lainieous, bringing the total to at least three so far this season. More...

Architect was involved in several island projects
Donald Floyd "Don" Huff of Port Aransas died after a sudden illness Wednesday, May 28, 2008, at an Aransas Pass hospital. He was 54. A memorial service was held Tuesday, June 3, at the First Baptist Church of Port Aransas. Huff was born Oct. 18, 1953, in St. Louis, Mo. He attended schools in Fort Smith, Ark. where he graduated from Southside High School. More...
