It didn't look good at first.

The Port Aransas High School Marlins baseball team fell way behind early in its road game against Pettus High School on Friday, April 4. Yet, the Marlins ended up winning, 16-14, with some impressive batting.

"I was disappointed in their (casual) attitude at the beginning of the game, spotting (Pettus) eight runs," said Brian Flack, coach of the Marlins. "However, they fought back, little by little, putting the best hitting performance that I have seen here together."

Everyone in the Marlins lineup got a hit. As a team, they got 22 hits.

"That is impressive against any team," Flack said.

The Marlins now are 10-6 overall and 4-3 in district play.

A few schedule notes: A Marlins game that had been scheduled for Monday, April 7, against Victoria Faith Academy, was cancelled. The Marlins' next game is scheduled for 6 p.m. Friday, April 11, against Charlotte High School, at Port Aransas Community Park.
