A pickle sale, a barbecue lunch and a musical variety show are among fundraisers scheduled by Relay For Life (RFL) teams. All money raised is used for cancer research, cancer awareness and to help cancer survivors as they go through treatment. RFLis an all-night cancer awareness walk set for 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Friday- Saturday, April 25-26.
A Survivors' brunch for all survivors and caregivers has been scheduled for Saturday, April 12.
The CCMS Survivors team will have its annual barbecue Saturday, March 15. From 11 a.m. until it is all gone, brisket sandwiches and drinks to go will be sold for $5 at the Community Presbyterian Church parking lot beside Jerry McDonald ball field, 113 S. Alister St.
The Shapes For Women teams will be in the Islander parking lot at the corner of Alister and Avenue G on Saturday, March 15. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., members will sell pickles, chips, baked goods, drinks and cheese, and collect donations. The teen team will do face painting for those needing a little color.
The Port Aransas Community Theatre PACTheads team has scheduled "A Lovely Way to Spend an Evening," a one night only musical variety show. The cost is $10, and it will be at 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 28. Tickets are on sale now at the theater and at the Port Aransas Chamber of Commerce.
