FISHING REPORT
With a few exceptions, catches this week didn't differ much from last week. Sheepshead still abound, and lots of shark, kingfish and snapper were caught offshore.
Bill Fintel of Barnacle Bill's Pier House reported catches of bonnethead shark, whiting, red drum, black drum and one blacktip shark measuring five-and-a-half feet.
John McNatt of Fisherman's Wharf reports vermilion snapper, kingfish and Atlantic sharpnose shark being caught offshore. Bay guides are bringing in nice red and black drum. Anglers on the north jetty are catching sheepshead.
According to Sandy Martin at Dolphin Dock, vermilion snapper, kingfish, and shark were caught. The bays have yielded black and red drum.
Deep Sea Headquarters trips have brought in mako, vermilion snapper and limits of kingfish. Sheepshead, black drum and reds were brought in from the bays, according to Dan Hurd.
Limits of kingfish, vermillion snapper and shark were the big catches on the Adventurer out of Offshore Adventures. Bay guides led customers to limits of black drum, sheepshead and a few trout, reported Peggy Sexton.
Limits of red and black drum and sheepshead are being caught in the bays, according to Gwen Montgomery out of Woody's Sports Center. Kingfish, vermilion snapper, and shark were all brought in from offshore, as well as some state water snapper.
