Hummel
CAROLYN FISH HUMMEL Carolyn Fish Hummel of Wimberley, 44, died Saturday, March 29, after a brief illness.
Hummel spent much of her time on a fishing boat in Port Aransas and was known for the fishing lures she made.
She was born in Houston on Dec. 5, 1963, to Martha and Don Hummel.
She completed her first marathon in the seventh grade, and graduated with honors from St. Stephen's Episcopal School and from the Plan II program at The University of Texas at Austin.
One of the first women in Texas to earn a captain's license, Hummel also enjoyed cooking, playing tennis and watching "Star Trek."
A celebration of her life will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 5, at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church in Wimberley.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Stephen's Church in Wimberley or St. Stephen's School in Austin.
