Lady Marlin Hannah Jones is at left. When you're up against one of the strongest teams around, you can expect a tough game.

That's what the Port Aransas High School Lady Marlins got on Tuesday, March 25, when they fell to Woodsboro, 0-11, in a home game.

"This was the best team in our district, with the best pitcher we have faced," said Karen Hall, coach of the Lady Marlins. "We definitely had our struggles hitting off of her."

Having such a good pitcher kept Woodsboro from worrying about whatever fielding weaknesses the team may have had.

"I imagine they did have some weaknesses, but we were unable to expose them, because we couldn't hit the ball," Hall said.

But there were bright spots for the Lady Marlins.

"Katelin Dupnik made a beautiful double play from second to first, tagging the runner between first and second and throwing out the runner going to first," Hall said.

"Jordan (Butterfield) pitched good and had five strike-outs, allowing four walks," Hall said.

The Lady Marlins are 2-5 overall and 0-3 in district play.
