Margaret Ruth Lumen, 83, died Thursday, March 13, 2008, at her residence in Rockport, TX. She was born June 22, 1924, in Philadelphia, Pa., to Samuel Bruce McCain and Mary Bennett McCain, who preceded her in death. Lumen was raised in Philadelphia and was later a resident of Bartlesville, Okla., where she was an activities director for a nursing home. She moved to Rockport eight years ago, where she was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Aransas County Medical Society. She was employed for seven years by the Elderhostel in Port Aransas.

Lumen is survived by her two sons, Douglas (Beverly) Lumen of Bandon, Ore., and Mark Lumen of Washington, D.C.; two daughters, Kathleen Willis of Bartlesville, Okla., and Janice (Michael) Maczko of Rockport; seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Private family services will be held at a later date.
