Lessons for children keep creativity going during Spring Break

Put creativity in your child's Spring Break by signing up for Spring Art Days.

The Art Center for the Islands is offering afternoons of art Monday through Friday, March 17-21.

Students in third through fifth grade can learn art in different medias from 1 to 3:30 p.m. at the art center, 323 N. Alister St.

The cost is $15 per child for the week, including supplies.

Sign up and pay now to save a spot.

The camp will focus on "all things spring" in art history including Monet and other impressionist artists. Birds, flowers, rain, frogs and gardens will be explored.

The young artists will work with collage, 3D material, printmaking, found objects, fabric as well as paint, all under the direction of instructor Marilyn Cook.

"Don't miss this great opportunity to have fun doing art! Kids are welcome, whether they live here full time or are just visiting," said art center director Mary Rose.
