Style show tickets for sale

Proceeds to beautify town, bolster garden club's scholarship fund

Doors open at 1 p.m. for shopping, and the show will start at about 2:30 p.m. The fashion-conscious in Port Aransas are buying advance tickets for the Fashions and Flip Flops Style Show sponsored by the Port Aransas Garden Club.

That will give them a couple of extra dollars to spend shopping at the "boothtiques" that will be open prior to the show on Thursday, March 6.

Advance tickets are $15.They'll be $17 at the door of the Civic Center the day of the show.

Advance tickets may be purchased from the participating boutiques.

The style show will be preceded by browsing and buying at 14 "boothtiques" that will line the perimeter of the center. Doors will open at 1 p.m. for shopping, and the style show will get under way at 2:30 p.m.

The browsing and buying will be fueled by wine and hors d'oeuvres by Miss K Catering to Go.

Fashions from Absolutely Everything, Fishtales, Island Woman Boutique, Jo D's Etc., Pretty Dam Cute, Salt Grass Boutique, Stephanie's Stuff and The Cypress Tree will be featured.

Not all shops will be prepared to take credit cards, but checks and cash will be accepted.

Models will be Carolee Crider, Jill Reed, Bette Austin, Annette Casto, Linda Hansen, Marion Fersing, Nancy Vaughn, Ann Bracher Vaughan and Linda Halioua.

Chairman of the show is Darlene Secich. Moderators will be Joy Morrow and Dee Ann Simmons.

Proceeds from the event are used for projects to beautify the city and for the garden club's scholarship fund.
