Project Grad switches garage sale

A change of date and place has been announced for the Project Graduation garage sale.

Due to the ongoing construction on the Community Center, the sale now will be held Saturday, March 8, at the Civic Center, 710 W. Ave. A. The sale will begin at 9 a.m. and continue through mid-afternoon.

Sale chairman Jackie Ross is encouraging all Port Aransas High School juniors and seniors, along with their parents to contact her for an assignment to help with the sale. She may be reached at 749-5273.

"It is time to step up and help out," Ross said.

Trucks and trailers are needed for hauling the many items from storage, as well as people to do the hauling. Workers during the sale also are needed.

According to Ross, a wide variety of merchandise will be available for purchase at great prices.

Volunteers will set up midmorning on Friday, March 7, and any helping hands would be appreciated, said Ross.

"Any big items for donation may be brought to the Civic Center during the set-up that Friday.

Buying at the garage sale helps Project Graduation organizers get closer to their goal of providing alcohol-free and drug-free lock-in party on graduation night for Port Aransas High School seniors, juniors and their guests.
