A surfer is caught in an avalanche of white water as he rides a wave at Horace Caldwell Pier on Sunday, Feb. 17. He was unhurt. Dozens of surfers flocked to the beach in Port Aransas Sunday to take advantage of big waves, some more than six feet high, marching in from the gulf.
